Since the show opened on July 5th, For The First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing Along Celebration has delighted guests of all ages at Disney's Hollywood Studios' Premiere Theater. The show is currently the third most popular show at Walt Disney World and continues to fill to capacity almost every show. With Frozen Summer Fun set to end on September 1st, it begs the question if Disney will end the popular show's run as scheduled, or are there other plans in the works?
Rumors have been circling that the Frozen Sing Along show might have it's run extended to continue to boost park attendance. Personally, without any inside information, I feel it is a safe bet the show will be staying a few extra months.
For starters, the Premiere Theater is a mostly unused building in the back of the park near Muppet Vision 3-D. It is only used for special events such as Star Wars Weekends and adds an additional venue for guests to enjoy. Secondly, with the popularity of Frozen clearly not stopping anytime soon and the show's popularity across property, it seems like a no brainer to keep the show running.
If the run of the Frozen Sing Along is extended, there is no telling for how long. It could be extended through the holidays all the way up until January or have a shorter run. My personal guess is the run will be extended until mid November (2 and a half months) in order to make the most of the location. Because the Osbourne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights starts in mid November and the extended queue/ticket distribution area for Premiere Theater uses San Francisco Street, I feel the show will continue until Osbourne opens to the public, freeing up the street for traffic. This also paves the way for the popular Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special to return to the Premiere Theater for it's two week run the weeks of Christmas and New Years'. Again. this is all speculative, but seems like a logical plan.
Based on the popularity of the Frozen Sing Along and the entire Frozen Summer Fun event, it appears Frozen is staying at DHS for the foreseeable future. At the park's main entrance plaza, the American Idol Experience film strip panel has been replaced with Frozen. This leads me to believe Frozen is a long term addition to the park, possibly replacing Idol after it closes in January 2015. We won't know until Disney confirms anything, but it seems like DHS could remain frozen for a while longer.
